Amid fresh growth, warming temperatures and Buckeyes Spring football, the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences held its first Alumni Spring Game Tailgate on April 16.
Prior to kickoff, alumni and their families enjoyed a plethora of family-friendly activities such as cookie decorating, magicians, face painting and balloon artists inside the Kottman Hall lobby and plaza area. Members of the Ohio State Magicians Club showcased their talents by thrilling guests with fascinating illusions and tricks.
Children left the tailgate ready to embrace their inner football player with creations from Ballooniacs of football helmets, footballs and even butterfly wings.
Face painters from Matt the Balloon Guy intricately decorated both kids and those young at heart with the popular Block "O" and even a flaming football.
This laid-back gameday atmosphere allowed 183 visitors -- including alumni and their families, college faculty and staff -- to engage and experience campus.
“I love how the college keeps such a strong relationship with its alumni. It makes me excited to know I can still come back to events like this after I graduate next year,” said Mindi Brookhart, a CFAES Ambassador who helped host the event.
