Smart Campus Challenge - Columbus, Ohio

Attend the first-ever Smart Campus Challenge and cheer on students as they compete for up to $200k in funding for their sustainability ventures. (Projects below that are underlined are run by teams connected to CFAES) 

Projects:
We CAN Change the World — an event aimed at increasing recycling rates on campus
Wasted Opportunities — an app that aims to manage and eventually reduce food waste on campus and in Columbus
Search for Trees — a search engine that plants trees after a certain number of searches
Surfactant Addition — an oil that reduces the amount of energy used in campus’ chiller plants
Faci — a business that repurposes coffee grounds from campus cafes into a facial scrub
Solar Bus Stop — educating Ohio State on the use of renewable energy by installing solar panels on a bus stop

Pitch presentations will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and lunch will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. while the judges decide which projects to fund. The announcement of winners will take place from 1:30 to 2 p.m.
