Pat and Bobby Moser Scholars Ultimate Ice Cream Social

Jun 7, 2013 (All day)

On Friday, June 7, 2013, the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences celebrated the Pat and Bobby Moser Scholars Program by throwing the Ultimate Ice Cream Social.  Guests included supporters and friends of the program.  Pat and Bobby have hosted bowl game ice cream socials for the past 15 years.  The college couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the fundraising progress for the Moser Scholars Program than with the Ultimate Ice Cream Social.

Graeter’s Ice Cream, Johnson’s Real Ice Cream and Velvet Ice Cream provided guests with delicious ice cream shakes, malts, gourmet scoops and the ultimate make-your-own sundae bar.

Guests enjoyed many activities, including a memory book photo stop where their photos were taken in front of a 12 foot banana split made out of balloons, and the music lounge where guests listened to the Northside Jazz Band perform Dixie-style jazz favorites.   Photo stops included balloon sculptures of a towering 17 foot chocolate sundae, a 15 foot ice cream cone, an 18 foot cherry float, three old fashioned ice cream store backdrops, and a whipped cream and sprinkle wrapped stage.

During the program, emceed by Dr. Linda Martin, Dean Bruce McPheron presented Pat and Bobby with a signed and bound endowment description and a custom carved ice cream scoop and stand with an engraved plate commemorating the event.  Dean McPheron, Pat and Bobby also had the honor of introducing the first Moser Scholarship recipient, Sarah Bookman, whose moving speech honored all scholarship donors and the Moser’s unparalleled tenure.
