Buckeye Classic Meat Judging Contest - Columbus, Ohio
Primary tabs
The Buckeye Classic Meat Judging Contest is an event intended to bring alumni back to their alma mater to meet up with old friends and meet current students involved in meat science. So, step back in time, dust off your judging skills, and enjoy another round of judging meat.
The 2018 Buckeye Classic event will be hosted November 3, 2018, in 117 Animal Science building.
The event will run from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Attendees can come and go as they please during that time. Awards will be announced on Saturday at 1:30 PM. This event does occur on a game day, so parking in the Animal Science Building lot will be Pay-by-Plate, unless you have an Ohio State parking pass. Pay-by-Plate machines are located throughout campus to allow visitors to purchase parking. To pay for parking, walk to the nearest Pay-by-Plate machine (clearly marked by directional signs). Enter your license plate number and select the form of payment and amount of parking time desired, as indicated by printed instructions on the Pay-by-Plate machine.
Dr. Lyda G. Garcia is interested in your ideas on how to strengthen the Meat Science program and the Meat Judging program to become one of the best in the nation. "Engaging our alumni with our program is a critical component to our current and future students. Knowing that the alumni support what they do can make a world of a difference," says Dr. Garcia.
