As students return to campus for the start of a new school year, not only are we looking ahead at exciting things such as Farm Science Review, CFAES Homecoming and Alumni Awards, department open houses, and the opening of Trimble Technology Labs on our Columbus and Wooster campuses, we are reflecting on why we’re here—because of our passion for food, agriculture, and the environment.
At CFAES, we believe that inspiration ignites potential, and every day, we strive to make the impossible possible, achieve our greatest goals, and live a meaningful, passion-driven life. This is possible because student success is at the forefront of everything we do at CFAES:
- This year, state-of-the-art Trimble Technology Labs will open to enhance teaching, research, and outreach activities in food and agricultural engineering, construction management, and natural resources. Trimble equipment and software will be integrated into CFAES curriculum, further igniting the potential among our students.
- We are still raising funds for our Multispecies Animal Learning Center capital project, but we are projected to break ground in early 2024. This facility will support teaching in key STEM areas and workforce development for the wide array of careers available working with animals.
- Since the announcement of the Scarlet & Gray Advantage match program in 2021, your commitment to putting students first at CFAES has been evident. Thanks to donors like you, we have raised $3.45 million in endowment dollars that will be matched 1-to-1, supporting CFAES students.
Our success as students is possible because you, our donors and advocates, are committed to ensuring we reach our full potential. CFAES empowers us to pursue our passion for agriculture and develop lifelong relationships throughout our time here. It is a place where we can grow and share our knowledge with others, and where we can contribute our passions to solving the problems we face in our community and in the world. Thanks to you for investing in our success as students, preparing us to sustain life, dream big, and achieve great things.
Sincerely,
